Derek A. Eastlick, 43, formerly of Waupaca, WI, was discovered deceased in a wooded area of Platteville on Monday, September 2nd. His body was found by two individuals walking near a trail.

The cause of Eastlick’s death and the reasons for his presence in the location where he was discovered remain unclear. His last interaction with Platteville Police occurred on the evening of Friday, August 16th, when he fled on foot during a traffic stop. Eastlick was a passenger in a vehicle stopped due to an equipment violation, and police had an active Department of Corrections warrant for his arrest at that time. Officers pursued him, but he managed to escape and was not apprehended.
