Platteville Police responded to a report of a man threatening construction crew members with a gun at the intersection of Adams & Lancaster Streets on July 17, 2024.

The suspect, identified as Dustin P. Updike, 26, was apprehended without any resistance and the firearm was confiscated. Upon searching Updike’s residence, drugs and paraphernalia were found.

Charges have been filed against Updike, including Disorderly Conduct, Possession of a Short-Barreled Shotgun or Rifle, Possession of a Firearm while Intoxicated, Possession of THC, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in Grant County Circuit Court.

Assistance was provided by UW-Platteville Police, Grant County Sheriff’s Deputies, and the Platteville Fire Department. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
