On 12/28/23, at approximately 8:25 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 18 near Hicklin Hollow Road in Patch Grove Township.
After a brief investigation, it was determined that Elver Tlehauctle, 17, of Fennimore, was traveling east on Highway 18 in his 2011 Ford F150 when he lost control of the vehicle due to the road conditions. Elver attempted to correct the vehicle path but was unable to and the vehicle crossed the center line into oncoming traffic before it entered the ditch on the north side of Highway 18. The vehicle rolled approximately 1.5 times and came to rest on its top. Elver and a passenger, Lourdes Rodriguez, age 34 of Fennimore, were initially trapped in the vehicle, but were removed by members of the Bloomington Fire, Mount Hope Fire, and West Grant EMS. Elver and Rodriguez reported no injuries and denied medical help on scene.
Elver was cited for operating without a valid driver’s license.
Assisting at the scene were Bloomington Fire, Mount Hope Fire, and West Grant EMS. The vehicle was removed from the scene by B&M Auto Repair out of Bloomington.
