Emily Burman, 28, of Dubuque, has pleaded guilty to child endangerment and was sentenced to two years of probation for exposing her children, ages 3 and 2, to methamphetamine. The children were often left alone and living in unfit conditions, not being washed, and not being properly dressed for weather conditions. Metammphetamine was found in the hair of the children.

The Department of Human Services and Dubuque Police were notified in December 2022, and an investigation led to charges being brought against her.
