The Dubuque Police Department To Implement A Secondary Response Program

What is a secondary responder? A mental health worker, a social worker who responds to calls deemed safe to follow up with services to help with mental health and domestic issues. This provides much needed support and services. 

The people of Dubuque would get the right help and this program will free up first responders from these calls. Instead of officers trying to be social workers and mental health workers, they can concentrate on what they are hired to do, protect and serve the citizens of Dubuque.
