Yesterday evening, Tuesday, May 17, 2022, around 7 PM, we received a message of a bomb threat for this Friday, May 20, 2022 that was sent to us. By a parent of a student that received it on his snap chat.

The information we received was immediately emailed over to the Dubuque Police Department.

The statement that Dubuque Community School District released.

Last night, the district was notified of a concerning statement circulating on social media referencing Hempstead High School. The Dubuque Police Department immediately began investigating with school and district administrators to investigate the message and determine its origin.

In the late hours of the evening, the individual who posted the message was identified and the police confirmed that there was no credible threat. We are thankful for our partners at the Dubuque Police Department

As you know, we take any potential threat to our schools seriously. We wanted you to be aware that this post was circulating and assure you that it was deemed not credible in order to stop the spread of any rumors or misinformation.
