DUBUQUE, IA — Kennedy Mall is set to transform into the epicenter of patriotic festivities this week as it hosts the annual “Red, White & Blue Celebration” on Thursday, July 2, 2026. This year’s event marks a historic milestone as the community joins the nation in commemorating America’s 250th birthday.

The celebration promises a full day of family-friendly activities, special retail promotions, and live entertainment both inside and outside the mall.

Outdoor Festivities and Aerial Spectacle

The outdoor event kicks off at 5:00 PM in the mall parking lot. Attendees can enjoy a live Radio Dubuque broadcast, a bounce house, and various interactive family activities.

The highlight of the evening will occur at 7:00 PM, when the world-famous Team Fastrax professional skydivers will perform a high-precision parachute jump, descending into the Phoenix Theatres Drop Zone. Spectators are encouraged to look to the skies for what promises to be a dramatic and memorable demonstration of skill and patriotism.

Indoor Attractions

Inside the mall, the “America 250” spirit will be in full swing throughout the day:

 America 250 Free Gift: Customers who spend $250 or more at Kennedy Mall can redeem a limited-edition America 250 plushie in Center Court (available while supplies last).

 Cake Scavenger Hunt: Shoppers are invited to participate in the “America 250 Cake Scavenger Hunt,” searching for hidden cake displays located in various store windows. Scavenger hunt sheets are available for pickup in Center Court.

 Family Fun: Children can enjoy free face painting provided by “Captured on Canvas,” available in Center Court from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

 Commemorative Photos: Visitors can capture the memories at the America 250 photo booth, with an associated contest offering chances to win prizes.
