On 05/03/2022 at approximately 9:23PM, Jo Daviess County deputies performed a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on U.S. Rt. 20
West at Chemical Plant Road. Deputies made contact with the vehicle occupants and observed indicators of criminal activity.
Deputies requested the East Dubuque Police K-9 unit respond to the traffic stop to perform a free air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle. The K-9 unit alerted to the presence of a narcotic odor. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, deputies located approximately 29 pills containing Alprazolam (Xanax), 3 pills containing Dextroamphetamine-Amphetamine (Adderall), and opened THC gummies.

Ferraro was charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (X2), Unlawful Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in Motor Vehicle, and Speeding.

This incident remains under investigation. Ferraro is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
