On January 11, 2022, at 5:41 AM, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of a two vehicle crash at U.S. Highway 61 and County Road T involving a milk truck vs. a car.
Oakley Williams, age 20 of Richland Center, was driving west on County Road T and was approaching the interchange with U.S. Highway 61 when he ran the stop sign at the intersection. Williams was attempting to make a left turn onto U.S. Highway 61 to travel south, when Michael Volden, age 58 of Viroqua, was traveling south on U.S. Highway 61 in a 2019 Freightliner milk truck, owned by Organic Valley.
Williams pulled into the interchange in front of Volden, and Voldens automobile struck the rear rider side corner panel and pushed the vehicle onto County Road T, west of U.S. Highway 61. Volden’s automobile sustained damage to the frontal passenger side bumper and corner panel.
Dioans Towing of Fennimore removed William’s vehicle from the scene . There were no injuries reported as a result of the crash.
They cited Williams for not
stopping at a stop sign and failed to give the right of way, making a left turn, and also a written warning for operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance.
