On January 8, 2022 at 5:46 pm, Ryan Gallardo (24) of Decorah Iowa was traveling West on County U near Pigeon River Road in his 2009 Ford Edge with his wife Nicole Castillo (29) and their three children. Ryan began to slide on the icy road and lost control causing the vehicle to roll approximately four times before coming to rest upright in the lane of traffic. Nicole and all three children were transported to Grant Regional Hospital by Cassville EMS with minor injuries, and Cassville Fire assisted on scene. The vehicle was removed from the roadway by Donnie’s Towing.
