…Strong Easterly Winds and Scattered Storms This Evening… Strong easterly winds will gust 35 to 45 mph at times, and could approach 50 mph in isolated spots over the next few hours. Be alert for the strong winds if traveling and be sure to keep a firm grip on the steering wheel, especially if driving on north to south oriented roadways. Scattered storms will also impact eastern Iowa this evening. These strong winds are not associated with the storms, however the stronger storms will produce small hail, frequent lightning and brief heavy downpours.
