In the early morning hours of December 22, Jo Daviess County Sheriffs responded to a vehicle accident on Highway 20 1/4 mile west of Illinois State Route 84.

Deputies on scene learned that Zachary Kreg 21, to of East Dubuque Illinois, lost control hitting a barrier overcorrecting left to the pavement on the right hitting a large pile of gravel rolling multiple times before his vehicle landed upright facing west. Kreg was injured at the scene and transported by a Galena Ambulance to Midwest Medical Center in Galena Illinois for minor injuries.

Krieg has been charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid accidents.
