Davon Cornwell, 17, of Dubuque, has pleaded guilty in a plea deal. Cornwell was facing 10 years. Now with his plea, he will serve one year in the Elm Street Facility and a probation period of 2 to 5 years. Cornwell is charged with willful injury causing bodily injury, interference with official acts while armed with a firearm, and possession of marijuana.

On July 26th he got into an argument with another teen in the 400 block of Rhomberg Ave. In Hardees Restaurant parking lot shooting, seriously injuring him.

Cornwall was arrested on August 6th and interfered with the police. and was charged interference with official acts while armed and the position of marijuana.

Teen Crime

Cornell’s original case was moved from juvenile court to adult court. He was 17 at the time of the incident.
