Virginia Man Sentenced For Firing Gun Out Window Of Vehicle
Zachary Tawes, 27, pleaded guilty in Iowa District Court to reckless use of a firearm and had his other charges dropped, was sentenced to time served, and two years probation.
In August of this year Zachary Tawes age 27, of Hopewell, Virginia fired two shots out the front window of a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Demetrius Wash of Newton, Mississippi near West 14th Street. Dubuque Police were able to locate the vehicle and arrest both subjects on 16th Street using the cities surveillance cameras.
Police tested both subjects’ alcohol levels and both were over the legal limit and marijuana was found in the vehicle.
Tease has been charged with reckless use of a firearm, public intoxication, and possession of marijuana.
Wash has been charged for operating intoxicated.
