DUBUQUE, Iowa — Caden Dabrowski recorded his first United States Hockey League hat trick, and Olle Därth scored in overtime, as the Dubuque Fighting Saints finished a weekend sweep of the Sioux City Musketeers with a 5-4 victory on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, at ImOn Arena.
Dabrowski needed only 14 seconds to open the scoring, converting on the game’s first shift with assists from linemates Arsienii Voroteliak and Melvin Ekman. The same line struck again late in the opening period, when Dabrowski scored with 5:31 remaining to give Dubuque a 2-0 lead heading into the second period.
Sioux City answered quickly after intermission. Jake Merens scored at 3:42 of the second period, and TJ Hale tied the game less than two minutes later. Dabrowski restored the Saints’ lead at 8:18 of the second, completing his hat trick with his third goal of the night, again set up by Ekman and Voroteliak. Max Lind extended the margin to 4-2 at 15:53 of the second on a feed from Lincoln Krizizke.
The Musketeers refused to go quietly in the third period, scoring twice in the opening six minutes to erase the deficit for a second time. Wyatt Sypniewski cut the lead to one at 1:57, and Merens added his second goal of the night at 5:38 to tie the game at 4-4.
Overtime belonged to Dubuque. Därth started the decisive sequence in his own zone, moving the puck to Kris Richards in the neutral zone. Richards found Cruz Martin, playing in his Dubuque debut, streaking into the offensive zone, and Martin returned the puck to Därth on the circle for the game-winning goal, his sixth of the season.
The victory gave the Saints their third consecutive win, a first for the club this season, and lifted Dubuque to a 6-6-0-0 record with 12 points. Sioux City fell to 4-6-1-0 with 9 points. Dubuque outshot the Musketeers 31-17 in the game. The win completed the weekend sweep after Dubuque’s 5-3 victory over Sioux City on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026.
