DUBUQUE, Iowa — A 28-year-old man was arrested Thursday morning after allegedly creating a disturbance and interfering with emergency personnel following a motorcycle crash in Dubuque.

Jerry Ranee Jordan, 28, was taken into custody at approximately 9:55 a.m. near the intersection of Asbury Road and Cherry Street. He faces a misdemeanor charge of Obstruction of Emergency Communications.

According to witnesses that told Dubuque In Pursuit News, the incident began shortly after a motorcycle crash occurred at approximately 9:08 a.m. Witnesses reported that Jordan was traveling northbound in his vehicle along Asbury Road when he encountered the accident scene.

Rather than stopping safely or driving around the perimeter, Jordan allegedly drove directly through the crash site. Bystanders at the scene—who were actively attempting to assist the injured motorcyclist—reported getting into a verbal altercation with Jordan as he passed through.

After initially leaving the area, Jordan returned to the intersection shortly thereafter. Witnesses stated he became argumentative with officers who were working to secure the scene, direct traffic, and coordinate emergency care. His actions led police to intervene, culminating in his arrest less than an hour after the initial collision occurred.

No immediate updates were available regarding the condition of the motorcyclist involved in the initial crash. Jordan was transported to the local detention facility for booking following his arrest.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
