GRANT COUNTY, Wis. — A local farmer was forced off the road by a hit-and-run SUV Friday morning on Clay Hollow Road in Paris Township, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 11:55 a.m. on October 10, 2026, deputies responded to a report of a tractor that had been run off the roadway by a vehicle that failed to stop.

Beau Rindy-Droessler, 32, of rural Cuba City, was driving a John Deere 4430 tractor westbound on Clay Hollow Road while pulling two flat hay wagons loaded with round bales. As he negotiated a curve, a smaller-to-mid-sized SUV approached from the opposite direction on the wrong side of the road.

To avoid a head-on collision, Rindy-Droessler steered the tractor to the right. The tractor slid down an embankment, the first wagon jackknifed at a right angle, and the tractor came to rest against a tree. Rindy-Droessler was not injured.

The SUV did not stop and continued eastbound on Clay Hollow Road. Rindy-Droessler described the vehicle as a sandy-colored 2010–2015 Hyundai or Honda mid-sized SUV. He described the driver as a person in their mid-20s to 40s who was wearing a floppy hat.

Clay Hollow Road was closed between Highway 151 and Morgan Road while the tractor was recovered. The Dickeyville Fire Department assisted with traffic control, and Guy’s Truck and Tractor of Kieler removed the tractor from the embankment.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash. Anyone with information about the sandy-colored SUV or its driver is asked to contact the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and leave a message for Sergeant Nathan Gallagher.
