Shad Fiferlick, a registered sex offender, faces eight Class 1 felony counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and one Class 3 felony count of failure to register as a sex offender.
According to authorities, the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division received a CyberTipline report on April 23 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Investigators later received four additional CyberTipline reports involving the same individual.
On August 13, officers executed a search warrant at Fiferlick’s residence and seized electronic devices.
On October 9, a Statewide Grand Jury in Illinois returned the indictment. Fiferlick subsequently turned himself in at the Jo Daviess County Jail.
