DUBUQUE, Iowa — Nicholas Lloyd Goodendorf, a 44-year-old male, was arrested early Thursday morning on a felony probation violation charge.

According to Dubuque County records, Goodendorf was taken into custody at 5:25 a.m. on Oct. 8, 2026, at 770 Iowa St. in Dubuque by officer Kremer of the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department. The arrest is listed under case AR 2026002908 for Probation Violation (F).

Court docket entries show that a probation revocation was filed on Sept. 23, 2026, by DCS Dubuque. The same day, Judge Michael J. Shubatt issued an order for a public/bench warrant (with a copy to the sheriff). On Sept. 24, attorney Daniel Allen Dlouhy filed a motion to withdraw as counsel, which Judge Shubatt approved the following day. The warrant was served and an application for counsel/financial statement was filed on Oct. 8, 2026, by the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department.

Goodendorf’s underlying case stems from a December 2024 conviction. He pleaded guilty via negotiated plea on Dec. 4, 2024, before Judge Monica L. Zrinyi Ackley to one count of Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Air/Blood Flow Causing Bodily Injury (Iowa Code 708.2A(5)), a Class D felony. The offense date was Aug. 9, 2024. He received a five-year prison sentence that was largely suspended (four years and 363 days suspended), with five years of probation, a $1,025 fine (also suspended), a DNA requirement, and a batterer’s program requirement.

A related count of Assault by a Person Against Whom a Protective Order Is Issued (708.2E(2), Class D felony) and a first-degree harassment charge (708.7(2), aggravated misdemeanor) from the same date were dismissed by the court on Dec. 5, 2024.
