The Dubuque Police Department released its Monthly Activity Report for September 2026, revealing a slight overall decline in calls for service alongside notable increases in several enforcement metrics compared with August 2026.

In September, officers handled 3,182 calls for service, down 35 (about 1.1%) from August’s 3,217. Arrests edged lower as well, falling from 202 to 198 (a drop of 4, or roughly 2%). Warrants served decreased more sharply, from 89 in August to 59 in September (a reduction of 30, or about 34%).

Other categories rose. Citations increased from 416 to 506 (up 90, or about 21.6%). Written warnings climbed from 144 to 184 (up 40, or roughly 27.8%). OWI arrests also rose, from 22 to 32 (an increase of 10, or about 45.5%).

Both monthly reports include the standard note that arrests include custodial and non-custodial bookings and that the figures do not imply guilt for any person arrested or cited.

Overall, September reflected a modest dip in call volume and warrants served, while traffic-related enforcement (citations, written warnings, and OWI arrests) increased compared with the prior month.
