DUBUQUE COUNTY, Iowa — Motorists traveling through parts of Dubuque County should prepare for temporary traffic restrictions starting Tuesday, September 15, 2026, as crews begin a crack-sealing project on several county roads.

The work, classified as a construction project, is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. on Farley Road and will affect approximately 22.79 miles of roadway. Roads will remain open, but travel will be restricted during the day.

Affected roadways include:

•  Farley Road — from the City of Farley to the City of Cascade

•  Olde Castle Road — from Route 136 to Olde Worthington Road

•  Dyersville East Road — from Golf Course Road to Holy Cross Road

•  Waupeton Road — from Balltown Road to the Clayton County line

On Farley Road, traffic will be reduced to one lane during daytime hours, with flaggers and a pilot car guiding vehicles through the work zone. Contracted crews will seal cracks in both lanes as part of the maintenance effort.

Officials anticipate the project will last approximately three to four weeks, weather permitting. Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time, follow all traffic control devices and personnel instructions, and remain alert in active work zones.
