BOSCOBEL, Wis. — A 68-year-old Boscobel man was arrested Friday evening after a Grant County deputy stopped him for speeding on a motorcycle and determined he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

On Aug. 21, 2026, at approximately 7:58 p.m., a Grant County Sheriff’s Office deputy observed a motorcycle traveling 92 mph in a 55 mph zone on Highway 61 near Townhall Road in the Town of Marion. The deputy initiated a traffic stop for the speed violation.

During the investigation, the deputy determined the driver, identified as Kurt Schultz, 68, of Boscobel, was under the influence of alcohol. Schultz was arrested for operating while intoxicated as a third offense and placed on a probation hold. He was transported to the Grant County Jail.

Persons arrested or referred for charges by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. An arrest only indicates probable cause exists to bring formal charges. The names of victims and witnesses to a crime have been withheld per Wisconsin Statute §950.04.
