DUBUQUE, Iowa — Dubuque firefighters extinguished a residential structure fire Monday evening with no injuries reported.

At 6:40 p.m. on Aug. 10, 2026, the Dubuque Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 4139 Bluebird Drive. Units arrived within three minutes and found smoke showing from a detached garage next to a home.

Engine 3 conducted a size-up, located fire on both the exterior and interior of the garage, established command, and set up a water supply. Crews brought the fire under control within three minutes of arrival. The blaze was contained to the structure of origin.

No civilian or firefighter injuries occurred. Preliminary estimated property loss is approximately $65,000. The cause remains under investigation by the Dubuque Fire Department.

Responding units included Battalion 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Engine 6, Truck 1, Truck 4, Medic 4, and Car 6, placing 18 personnel on scene from five stations. The Dubuque Police Department and Alliant Energy assisted on scene.
