GALENA, Ill. — A 64-year-old Warren man was seriously injured Tuesday evening when his motorcycle crashed on West Stagecoach Trail in rural Jo Daviess County.

The crash occurred around 8:08 p.m. on July 7, 2026, approximately a quarter-mile west of Northwest Miner Road. According to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived to find the motorcycle in a ditch and the rider, Harry Georgalis, had been ejected from the vehicle.

First responders from the Galena Police Department, Scales Mound Fire Department, and Galena Ambulance Service provided initial aid at the scene. Georgalis was transported by ambulance to Midwest Medical Center in Galena before being airlifted via AirCare 3 to Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford for further treatment.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and no arrests were reported. The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.

Authorities have not released additional details about the extent of Georgalis’s injuries or the circumstances leading to the accident. This stretch of Stagecoach Trail, a rural two-lane road, is known for its winding terrain which can present challenges for motorcyclists, especially in low-light evening conditions.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available from investigators.
