Dubuque, Iowa — The Dubuque Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire on July 2, 2026, after being dispatched by Dubuque County Emergency Communications at 8:05 p.m.

Engine 5 arrived on scene at 8:06:19 p.m. and found the attached garage fully involved. A total of 17 firefighters deployed attack lines, bringing water on the fire by 8:11 p.m. and preventing it from spreading into the home’s living area.

One civilian was injured and transported to a nearby hospital. No firefighters were hurt. The cause is believed to be accidental, with the incident still under investigation. Preliminary damage estimates total approximately $117,000.
