
Looking for fun and creative activities for your child this summer? City of Dubuque Parks & Recreation has several hands-on classes designed for kids to explore, create, learn new skills, and make new friends.
Superhero Picnic
Ages: 4–6 years
Date & Time: Thursday, July 9 | 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Location: Slattery Center
Cost: $15/Resident, $18/Non-Resident
Superheroes are taking over Flora Park! Kids will enjoy superhero games, craft activities, a superhero trail adventure, and lunch with their superhero friends. Participants should bring a sack lunch and drink. Come dressed as your favorite superhero if you wish.

Tie Dye
Ages: 7–10 years
Date & Time: Thursday, July 9 | 2–4 p.m.
Location: Allison-Henderson Upper Level
Cost: $20/Resident, $24/Non-Resident
Create bold, colorful designs and learn how to make unique tie-dye patterns. One project will be provided, and participants are encouraged to bring an additional item to dye, such as a t-shirt, socks, or headband.
Camp Concoctions
Ages: 5–8 years
Date & Time: Tuesday & Thursday, July 14 & 16 | 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Location: Slattery Center
Cost: $48/Resident, $58/Non-Resident
This two-day camp is a mix of all your favorites! Kids will explore the park and playground, create masterpieces, play games, enjoy activities, and more. Participants should bring a swimsuit, towel, sack lunch, and water bottle. Dress for a mess!
Bread Making
Ages: 8–11 years
Date & Time: Saturday, July 18 | 9:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
Location: Allison-Henderson Upper Level
Cost: $18/R, $22/NR
Learn the basics of bread making in this hands-on class. Young bakers will use simple ingredients to create delicious breads, sample their creations, and take home recipes and special items.
