
DUBUQUE, Iowa — 30-year-old Hombra Montrell Williams pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court to possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic violence.
The case stems from a traffic stop on April 14, 2025, in Dubuque. Officers stopped Williams while a child was in the back seat of his car. During the search, they found a stolen, loaded handgun on the floorboard where Williams had been sitting. His DNA was recovered from the gun.
Court documents show Williams has a 2021 conviction for domestic abuse assault causing injury. Investigators also reviewed his Snapchat account and found videos of him posting about drugs, holding multiple guns, and firing a gun into the air.
Williams faces up to 15 years in federal prison and three years of supervised release. Sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
