Mark your calendars and grab your lawn chairs because the party at A.Y. McDonald Park & Boat Ramp kicks off at noon, with festivities running all the way until the final firework fades.
✈️ A Sky Full of Thunder

The aerial action begins around 6:00 PM. Witness the raw power of the USAF Heritage Flight, featuring the advanced F-35 Lightning II flying in formation with a legendary warbird. Hold your breath as aerobatic superstars like Britt Lincoln in his Extra 330SC and Craig Gifford push their planes to the limit. The excitement peaks at dusk with a poignant “missing man” formation, followed by a breathtaking 12,500-foot night jump by an all-veteran parachute team.
🎆 A Dazzling Finale
As night falls around 9:45 PM, the sky explodes in a spectacular, choreographed fireworks display over the Mississippi River.

🅿️ Parking & Cost (The Fine Print)
You only pay for parking, which is a flat $20 per vehicle. Proceeds support the event, so consider it a donation to an incredible tradition.
Parking lots open at 12:00 PM but fill up fast (often by 6:00 PM). Due to construction displacing about 1,000 spots, arrive EARLY! Accessible parking is available, but with no hard-top surface. RV parking is limited and requires a reservation ($100 + $20/car). Note: Traffic will be held for 30 minutes after the show for pedestrian safety.
✨ What Else to Expect
Beyond the sky-high thrills, enjoy delicious food trucks, live music, and a dedicated kids’ zone. Grab a free American flag at the Radio Dubuque tent and wave it proudly.
This is the can’t-miss event of the summer. We’ll see you on the riverfront! 🇺🇸
