Dubuque, Iowa — Firefighters rapidly brought a structure fire under control Monday morning at Comiskey Park, 255 E 24th St.

At 9:25 a.m. on May 18, 2026, Engine 6 and Truck 1 responded to a fire alarm and found smoke inside the building. Crews located heavy smoke and fire in a bathroom, prompting a full structure fire response that included Battalion 1, Engine 3, Engine 1, Truck 4, and Medic 2.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze with a preconnected 1¾-inch hose line. The fire was under control by 9:44 a.m. Thermal imaging cameras confirmed the fire did not spread beyond the bathroom.

Damage is estimated at $19,800. The Dubuque Fire Department is investigating the incident, which is considered suspicious. The Dubuque Police Department assisted on scene. No injuries were reported.

The cause remains under investigation.
