
ROCHELLE, IL — A high-stakes pursuit in rural Ogle County ended early Friday morning with the arrest of a 40-year-old Dubuque man facing a litany of felony and misdemeanor charges, including domestic battery and child endangerment.
The Incident
According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 2:19 AM on April 17, 2026, to a reported disturbance in the 11000 block of East Lincoln Lane in rural Rochelle.
The situation quickly escalated as the suspect, identified as Christopher Escutia-Rangel, attempted to flee from law enforcement. The ensuing pursuit involved both Ogle County deputies and officers from the Rochelle Police Department. Following the investigation and the stop, authorities discovered that Escutia-Rangel was not only operating the vehicle under the influence but was doing so with a child present in the vehicle.

Escutia-Rangel faces a comprehensive list of charges related to the incident and the preceding disturbance:

Current Status
