DUBUQUE, Iowa — On March 17, 2026, at approximately 1:06 a.m., 28-year-old Miquel Alexander Lopez was arrested by Dubuque County Deputy Soppe at 8585 Settlers Ln / 52 S in Dubuque County.

He faces two felony charges:

1.  Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations – Use/Display Weapon (Iowa Code § 708.3A)
This class “C” felony applies when a dangerous weapon is used or displayed against someone in a protected occupation (e.g., law enforcement, firefighters, correctional staff, certain public employees) and the offender knows or should know of their status.
