JACKSON COUNTY, Iowa — A single-vehicle rollover on a gravel road west of Nashville killed one person and injured two others Tuesday afternoon, January 13, 2026.

The crash occurred around 2:09 p.m. on 33rd Street, just west of 84th Avenue, according to Iowa State Patrol.

Kaleb D. Carder, 20, of Clinton, Iowa, drove a 2001 Ford F-150 eastbound. He slowed to avoid a non-contact county mowing vehicle in the ditch, lost control, and rolled the truck.

Carder, wearing a seatbelt, was airlifted to University of Iowa Health Care. Alexus Woodford, 24, also of Clinton and a passenger, was not belted and taken to Jackson County Regional Hospital.

A third occupant died at the scene; their name is withheld pending family notification.

Assisting agencies included Anamosa Fire & Ambulance, AirCare, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa DNR, and ISP.

The crash remains under investigation.
