On November 22, 2025, at approximately 2:47 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call from 11619 Mt. Ridge Rd. in North Lancaster Township regarding a 57-year-old male who had been shot. Deputies and Fennimore EMS were dispatched to the scene.

While deputies were en route, information was received that the victim was at the address preparing to go hunting with his adult daughter when the incident occurred. The caller believed the gunshot came from somewhere across the road.

Upon arrival, deputies assisted the family, who was providing first aid. The 57-year-old victim was transported by Fennimore EMS to Grant Regional Health Center with what appeared to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was then transferred by medical helicopter to another facility for further treatment.

Wardens from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources were notified and responded to the scene. As this incident appeared hunting-related, it was turned over to the Wisconsin DNR for further investigation.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was initially assisted at the scene by Fennimore EMS.
