Platteville, Wis. – A 21-year-old Platteville man was arrested for operating while intoxicated following a single-vehicle rollover crash that left his truck engulfed in flames early Saturday morning in the Township of Lima.

The Grant County Communications Center received a report of a vehicle fire on County Trunk Highway A near CTH D at approximately 1:45 a.m. on November 2, 2025. Grant County Deputies, along with responders from Platteville Fire Department and Southwest Health EMS, were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that Jesse Martin, 21, of Platteville, had been driving eastbound on CTH A in his 2005 Ford F250 when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck rolled multiple times before striking a tree and catching fire. Martin, the sole occupant, managed to exit the vehicle after the crash and sustained only minor injuries. He was transported to Southwest Health Center in Platteville for treatment.

An investigation at the scene led to Martin’s arrest and citations for operating while under the influence (1st offense) and failure to maintain control of a vehicle.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office received assistance from Southwest Health EMS, Platteville Fire Department, and Arrow Towing of Lancaster.

Persons arrested or referred for charges by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. An arrest only indicates probable cause exists to bring formal charges. The names of victims and witnesses to a crime have been withheld per Wisconsin Statute §950.04.
