Potosi Township, WI – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on September 20, 2025, at approximately 6:42 a.m., on County Highway U near the intersection with South Boice Creek Road, resulting in the death of a Horicon man. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of the crash, dispatching deputies along with Potosi Fire and EMS to the scene.

According to authorities, Ronald Walsh, a 64-year-old resident of Horicon, Wisconsin, was riding westbound on his 2004 Harley Davidson when the incident occurred. The weather at the time was rainy with foggy conditions, which may have contributed to the crash. For reasons still under investigation, Walsh’s motorcycle veered off the north side of the roadway, entered a ditch, and became airborne. Walsh, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Grant County Coroner.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Grant County Coroner’s Office, Potosi Fire Department, Potosi EMS, and Bennett’s Towing of Lancaster. The crash marks the seventh motor vehicle fatality in Grant County this year.

The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the cause of the accident and is urging drivers to exercise caution, particularly in adverse weather conditions. Authorities also remind motorcyclists of the importance of wearing helmets to enhance safety on the road.
