MUSCODA, Wis. — The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an adult female discovered in the Town of Muscoda on September 10, 2025. At approximately 6:15 p.m., a neighbor contacted authorities, requesting a welfare check on a woman who appeared unresponsive in her driveway. A deputy responded and found the woman deceased on the ground near the residence.

Due to unusual circumstances surrounding the scene, the Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory’s Crime Scene Response Team to process evidence. Investigators, alongside the Grant County Coroner, worked through the night and are continuing their efforts to determine the circumstances of the death.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification. The Grant County Coroner is arranging an autopsy to establish the cause and manner of death. Sheriff Craig Reukauf stated that there is no believed immediate danger to the public at this time.
