DUBUQUE COUNTY, Iowa – Humke Road is set to undergo a significant resurfacing project starting Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 7:00 AM, weather permitting. The 2.87-mile stretch between Sundown Road and Seippel Road will be reduced to one-lane traffic for approximately 6-8 weeks, with River City Paving overseeing the hot-mix asphalt (HMA) resurfacing and milling operations.

The project will involve milling the existing road surface, followed by the application of new asphalt. To manage traffic flow, a pilot car and flaggers will guide vehicles through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays and plan for alternate routes when possible. Following the resurfacing, additional work on shouldering and pavement markings will be completed to finalize the project.

River City Paving urges drivers to exercise caution in the work zone and follow all posted signs and flaggers’ instructions. The timeline for completion is subject to change based on weather conditions.
