The Dubuque Dragon Boat Association proudly presents the 37th Annual Dubuque Dragon Boat Races, a thrilling celebration of teamwork, culture, and Midwestern hospitality. Whether you’re a competitive paddler, a family looking for fun, or just a spectator craving excitement, this festival at Riverview Park (1851 Admiral Sheehy Drive, Dubuque, IA) has it all!

• Heart-Pounding Races: Watch or compete in high-energy dragon boat races featuring Taiwanese-style boats with flag catchers adding extra drama. Teams from across the Midwest, Minnesota, Ontario, Canada, and beyond battle it out in divisions like International (Elite), Corporate Cup, Junior, Unified Paddlers, and Breast Cancer Survivor teams. Over 25 paddlers per team – including 18 paddlers, a drummer, and a steersman – sync up to conquer the 300-meter course!

• Family Game Night Theme: This year’s vibe is all about playful fun! Teams are encouraged to deck out their campsites with family-friendly game themes. Bring your A-game for mini putting greens, board game stations, and more – perfect for kids and adults alike.

• Cultural Spectacle: Dive into ancient Chinese traditions with vibrant performances, including traditional dances, martial arts demos, and live music. Savor Asian-inspired cuisine from food vendors, and explore the rich history of dragon boating – a 2,000-year-old sport honoring poet Qu Yuan.

• Community Spirit: Build bonds through paddling! Corporate teams, nonprofits, schools, and friends unite for team-building and networking. Plus, special ceremonies like the “Awakening of the Dragon” on Saturday and Breast Cancer Awareness tribute on Sunday.
