On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 2:06 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on STH 133, north of Dogtail Road in the Town of Potosi.

The crash involved Jett James Johnson, 21, of Madison, who was riding a 2023 Kawasaki EX400 southbound. Johnson failed to negotiate a curve, striking a guardrail. Despite wearing protective gear, he sustained serious injuries. Potosi Fire Department and Potosi EMS responded, with Potosi EMS transporting Johnson to a landing zone where UW-Med Flight airlifted him to UW-Hospital in Madison for treatment.

The Potosi Fire Department secured the landing zone, and UW-Med Flight assisted in the medical evacuation. The crash remains under investigation by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
