Minivan vs. Tractor Crash on Highway 151

On August 14, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle crash on Highway 151 near Southwest Road in Platteville. The incident involved a collision between a minivan and a tractor pulling a chopper box.

According to the investigation, Martin Euler, 18, of Hazel Green, was driving a tractor northbound on Highway 151, towing a chopper box. At the same time, Rogan Hellwig, operating a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan, was also traveling northbound. Hellwig failed to notice the farm machinery in time and attempted to swerve, but collided with the rear driver’s side tire of the chopper box. The minivan sustained significant damage, while the farm equipment remained operational and was driven from the scene.

Southwest Health Center EMS evaluated both drivers at the scene, but neither required transport to a medical facility. Hellwig was cited for inattentive driving.

The response effort included assistance from the UW-Platteville Police Department, Platteville Fire Department, SOS Road Rescue, and Southwest Health Center EMS.
