DUBUQUE, IA – On August 13, 2025, at approximately 8:47 AM, Caleb Brady Bedford, a 28-year-old white male, was arrested at the intersection of University Ave and N Grandview Ave in Dubuque, Iowa. The arrest was carried out by Officer D. R. Doerges of the Dubuque Police Department.

Bedford faces multiple charges, including:

1. Burglary 3rd Degree – Burglary/Breaking and Entering (Felony): This charge carries a bond of $5,000.00. According to Iowa law, third-degree burglary, a Class D felony, typically involves unauthorized entry into an occupied structure with intent to commit a felony, assault, or theft.

2. Failure to Appear – Non-Felony (Serious Misdemeanor): Bedford was charged with two counts of failure to appear for a scheduled court date, each with a bond of $3,500.00. These charges stem from prior non-felony cases, indicating Bedford’s failure to comply with court obligations.

3. Warrant Out of State (Misdemeanor): Bedford is also being held on an out-of-state warrant, though specific details regarding the issuing state or nature of the warrant were not disclosed.

Bedford is currently in custody at the Dubuque County Jail, awaiting court proceedings. The burglary charge, classified as a felony, could result in significant penalties under Iowa law, including up to five years in prison and fines, depending on the circumstances of the case. The additional misdemeanor charges and out-of-state warrant further complicate Bedford’s legal situation.

Authorities have not released additional details about the incident leading to the burglary charge or the specifics of the out-of-state warrant.

An arrest is not an admission of guilt. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
