DUBUQUE, IA – On July 27, 2025, at approximately 3:27 AM, Kendra Denise Figures, a 29-year-old female, was arrested by the Dubuque Police Department at the intersection of 195 Loras Blvd and Main St. The arrest followed a traffic stop conducted by Officer J.J. Dura, resulting in multiple charges against Figures.

According to court documents, Figures faces three misdemeanor charges:

1. Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana (1st Offense),

2. Possession or Carrying of a Dangerous Weapon While Under the Influence, and

3. Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) – 1st Offense.

Following her arrest, several court actions were promptly filed on the same day. The Dubuque Police Department submitted criminal complaints (D0001, D0002, D0003), initiating the legal process. Figures also filed an application for counsel and a financial statement (D0004) to determine eligibility for legal representation. An order for discovery was issued by Judge Kellyann M. Lekar (D0006), and a hearing for initial appearance was scheduled before Magistrate Matthew W. Boleyn (D0005) on July 27, 2025.

Court records indicate that a preliminary hearing has been set for August 14, 2025, at 10:50 AM. Figures was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond, meaning she is not required to pay unless she fails to appear in court.

The Dubuque Police Department has not released additional details about the incident, and the case remains under investigation. Figures is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
