EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. — The night sky over East Dubuque will light up with a spectacular fireworks display on Saturday, June 28, 2025, as the city’s cherished Independence Day celebration returns in full force, thanks to the generosity of local donors. The annual event, organized by the EDGE Foundation, nearly faced cancellation this year due to funding challenges but was saved by a last-minute contributions

The festivities will kick off at 5:30 p.m. in downtown East Dubuque, offering a family-friendly evening filled with free inflatable rides for kids and live music by the band Unicorn Fist from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The highlight of the night, a dazzling fireworks display, will begin at 10:00 p.m., illuminating the Mississippi River and drawing residents and visitors alike to celebrate the spirit of Independence Day.
