PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – On June 23, 2025, at approximately 4:10 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Hwy 81 near Blockhouse Road in the Township of Platteville. The incident involved a collision between a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado driven by Mary Hofer-Furlong, 56, of Cuba City, and a vehicle operated by Conner Hill, 18, also of Cuba City.

According to reports, Furlong was driving south on Hwy 81 when she slowed to a stop due to traffic congestion. As she checked her rearview mirror, she noticed Hill’s vehicle approaching rapidly. Hill, who was traveling south with two juvenile passengers, crested a hill and momentarily looked away to speak with a passenger. When he turned back, he was unable to stop in time and rear-ended Furlong’s vehicle.

All individuals involved were wearing seat belts, and the front airbags in Hill’s vehicle deployed upon impact. The occupants of Hill’s vehicle, including the two juveniles, were transported to Southwest Health in Platteville for treatment. Furlong declined medical transport and remained at the scene.

Furlong’s Chevrolet Colorado was towed by Donnies Tire of Dickeyville, while Hill’s vehicle was removed by Precision Auto of Platteville. The Platteville Fire Department and Southwest Health EMS assisted the Grant County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
