DUBUQUE, IA — On May 14, 2025, Murrell Ladell Griffin 54, was sentenced by Judge Robert J. Richter in Dubuque County case 01311 AGCR158978. Griffin pleaded guilty to Driving While Barred (Aggravated Misdemeanor) and Eluding (Serious Misdemeanor), for an offense that happened on March 20, 2025.

For Driving While Barred, Griffin received a two-year prison term and an $855 fine. For Eluding, he was sentenced to 365 days in jail and a $430 fine. A third charge, Escape from Custody – Misdemeanant, was dismissed. The sentencing followed a negotiated plea, with transcripts filed by court reporter Brittany Putz on June 6, 2025.
