June 16, 2025 – The City of Dubuque Parks and Recreation Commission is accepting proposals for naming a new park in the South Pointe neighborhood, developed by South Pointe, L.L.C. The park, set for completion this fall, will feature playground equipment, swings, a picnic table, a park bench, and a bike rack.

Proposals must align with the City’s Park & Recreation Facility Naming Policy, including categories like historic events, notable individuals or groups, major donations, or geographic location. Submissions require a proposed name and reasoning, with optional support documents like letters or petitions.

Parks Director Marie Ware will review submissions for compliance, verify documents, and forward them to the commission for ranking and recommendation to the City Council. Proposals can be submitted at http://www.cityofdubuque.org/planyourpark or via paper forms at 1157 Central Ave, with mailed copies available by calling 563-589-4263. The deadline is July 16.
