
PEOSTA, IA — Dubuque County has announced a multi-phase construction project on Old Highway Rd between Peosta and Farley, beginning Wednesday, June 4, 2025, and continuing through Friday, July 4, 2025, weather permitting.
Phase 1: Culvert Work (Epworth to Farley)
Starting Monday, June 9, 2025, Phase 1 will involve culvert work along a 2,008-foot stretch of Old Highway Rd. A complete road closure is planned between Fishpond Rd and Hartbecke Rd, with lane closures at three locations between Fishpond Rd and Boge Rd. A detour will be provided, and this phase is expected to last 2-3 weeks, depending on weather conditions. See the county-provided map for details.
Phase 2: Culvert Work (Peosta to Epworth)
Following Phase 1, Phase 2 will focus on additional culvert work between Peosta and Epworth. This phase will involve spot lane closures but will not require a full road closure or detour. An updated map and details will be released closer to the start of Phase 2.
Phase 3: Road Resurfacing (Peosta to Farley)
The final phase will involve resurfacing Old Highway Rd from Peosta to Farley. Traffic will be managed with a pilot car and flaggers to ensure safe passage.
