DUBUQUE, Iowa — Flora and Sutton Pools opened for the 2025 season on Tuesday, May 27, welcoming swimmers to beat the heat. The City of Dubuque Parks and Recreation Department announced the schedule, with pre-season hours running through June 6: Monday to Friday, 7-9 a.m. for adult swim, 12-1 p.m. for adult swim and water playground (ages 5 and under), 1-4:30 p.m. for open swim, and 6-8 p.m. for additional open swim. Weekend hours on May 31 and June 1 were 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for adult swim and water playground, followed by open swim from 1-4:30 p.m. Regular season hours begin June 7.

Annual pool passes are on sale for Dubuque residents at $42 for youth (ages 4-17), $74 for adults (18+), and $53 for seniors (55+). Children 3 and under swim free. Passes can be purchased online at http://www.cityofdubuque.org/pools or at the Parks & Recreation Office at 1157 Central Ave. First-time buyers must visit the office for a photo and to pick up their pass, while renewals can be done online. Pool passes are not sold at the pools.

Special discount programs include a 50% discount for income-qualified residents without scholarship credits. The Parks & Recreation Department also offers up to 300 low-income families $150 in scholarship credits, usable for pool passes, expiring June 30, 2025. Flora Pool is located at 2525 Green Street, and Sutton Pool at 1900 Hawthorne St. Weather updates will be posted on the Parks & Recreation Facebook page.
