
Cedar Falls, IA – Iowa’s state shooting sports season has begun, drawing thousands of student athletes from elementary to college levels to compete in six championship events over the coming weeks. Participants are vying for scholarships, prizes, and recognition in events hosted by the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP).
These youth development programs aim to foster personal growth through competitive shooting, emphasizing values like fair play, responsibility, sportsmanship, and self-discipline.
Championship Schedule:
• June 2-8: Trap at Iowa State Trap Shooting Home Grounds, Cedar Falls
• June 12-14: Sporting Clays at Highland Hunting, Riverside
• June 18-21: Skeet at New Pioneer Gun Club, Waukee
• June 28-29: Rifle & Pistol at Olofson Shooting Range, Polk City
