MUSCODA, WI — On May 27, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., a fatal crash occurred on Hwy 133 near Taylor Rd. in the Town of Muscoda, Grant County. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a collision between a motorcycle and a tractor.

Matthew Griffith, 37, of Muscoda, was riding a 2014 Harley Davidson eastbound on Hwy 133. At the same time, Brian Perkins, 52, of rural Richland Center, was driving a New Holland tractor pulling a Kinze planter in the same direction. Griffith collided with the rear of the planter, resulting in fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Grant County Coroner’s Office. Perkins was unharmed.

Investigators confirmed the tractor and planter had functioning lights. Griffith was not wearing a helmet, and speed is believed to have contributed to the crash.
